You don’t even need to look too deep into the stats – just glance at the points gap and goal difference between Hearts and Rangers. It’s all there, in black and white. Hearts are scoring freely, playing with confidence, and most importantly, winning games. Nothing in the numbers suggests that’s about to change anytime soon, and that’s what makes this all the more worrying.
Hearts Flying, Celtic Gathering Pace:
Right now, Hearts are in rhythm. They’ve got structure, energy, and a belief that comes from a team pulling in the same direction. Meanwhile, Celtic – under Martin O’Neil – are improving. He’s a proven man-manager with a track record of getting the best out of his players. You can already see the early signs of that familiar Celtic steel returning.
If anyone’s going to catch Hearts, the momentum looks more with Celtic than with Rangers. They’re starting to click. Rangers, on the other hand, are still searching for an identity and a consistent rhythm.
Rangers’ Struggles: Goals, Grit, and Gaps:
The harsh truth is that Rangers aren’t scoring enough, and when they do, they’re just as likely to concede at the other end. The team lacks balance – there’s no real cohesion between the lines, and we’re not seeing that old fight that used to define Rangers sides.
We need to start grinding out results – not just the occasional strong performance, but a proper winning streak: four, five, six games on the bounce. Until that happens, talk of challenging for the title feels premature at best.
A Team Without Bite or Belief:
There are too many passengers. Our captain strolls around when we’re under pressure. Our main striker looks out of ideas. The midfield and defence? A mixed bag at best. Nothing about this side screams “title contenders.”
Even with or without Danny Röhl, nothing’s clicking yet. This squad simply doesn’t look ready to win trophies. And unless some genuine quality arrives through the door soon, that won’t change.
A Plea for Better:
Negative? Maybe. Honest? Absolutely. I’ll be the first to hold my hands up and apologise if proven wrong, but right now, Rangers look miles off the pace. If this club wants to get back to where it belongs, things need to improve fast – on and off the pitch.
