This weekend’s main event saw the American, coming off the back of three straight losses, finding his feet better in the fight and being the first to find the distance during the first round.
In the second round, Perez kept his timing and, in one attack, when he cornered Matheus, he connected with a deadly straight right that sent his opponent crashing to the cage.
With this, the American ends his bad run and should top the top 5 in the 57kg category, with a 25-8 record. The Minas Gerais native, currently 5th in the rankings, should lose his position and become 19-4-1 in MMA.
