Oliveira vs Tsarukyan, which was expected to be a title shot in the 70kg category, was almost decided in the first few minutes, when the Brazilian landed a tight guillotine, only to see the Armenian narrowly survive.
With heavy ground and pound, Arman hurt Charles for much of the second round. But in the final seconds, he was the target of a triangle choke and was saved by the sound of the horn.
The pressure continued in the final five minutes. Landing more punches in a row, the fight once again went to the ground, where Tsarukyan was in the dominant position and once again fell into a hand triangle. However, the lack of time was enough for him to take a breather and survive another submission attempt, taking the result by split decision.
