Bayern Munich – Freiburg – 3:0
In a dominant performance, Bayern Munich beat Freiburg 3-0, with Kingsley Coman playing a starring role. This win came as a recovery from the recent draw with RB Leipzig and solidified their position in the Bundesliga.
Coman was the standout player, scoring twice. He opened the scoring in the 12th minute with an incredible long-range strike from an acute angle that took everyone by surprise. Leroy Sane increased Bayern’s lead in the 25th minute and, despite having another goal disallowed after a VAR review, the team remained firmly in control.
Bayern Munich are currently in third place in the league with 17 points, trailing Bayer Leverkusen, the leaders, by just two points. Leverkusen also beat Cologne 3-0 earlier in the day.
In the second half, Bayern slowed down and although Coman had the chance to complete his hat-trick, he chose to pass the ball to Mathys Tel, who was offside. Freiburg struggled to pose any significant threat throughout the game.
Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu made an impressive save in the 83rd minute, deflecting a Leon Goretzka shot onto the crossbar. However, two minutes later, Coman scored again with a deflected shot, sealing the 3-0 win. There were no Brazilians taking part in this match.
Rennes – PSG – 1:3
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) got back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Rennes in Ligue 1. This achievement took PSG to third place in the league, behind AS Monaco by just two points.
After a goalless draw with Clermont Foot and a heavy 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Champions League, PSG showed no signs of a hangover from their midweek loss.
PSG took the lead with a fine goal from Vitinha, who curled a shot into the top corner after an incredible run from Ousmane Dembele. Just four minutes later, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi extended the lead with a header from close range.
Rennes improved in the second half, with Amine Gouiri scoring with a header to reduce the deficit. PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani scored almost immediately with a first-time shot after a pass from Hakimi.
Despite PSG’s dominance, Kylian Mbappe was stopped by goalkeeper Steve Mandanda and narrowly missed the target after dribbling past the keeper.
That defeat left Rennes in eighth place in the Ligue 1 standings. PSG’s resurgence marked a strong return to winning ways and a determined pursuit of league leaders AS Monaco. In that match, Marquinhos was the only Brazilian player on the pitch. His skillful back pass started the sequence of moves that led to PSG’s first goal.
