Brazil coach Fernando Diniz is expected to reveal the list of 23 players selected to represent the country in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Uruguay. After a successful start to qualifying, with wins over Bolivia and Peru, Brazil will resume their campaign on October 12, facing Venezuela at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá, followed by a match against Uruguay at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo on October 17.
This is Diniz’s second call-up to the national team, but before finalizing the list, his immediate focus is on Fluminense’s preparations for the match against Cruzeiro in the 24th round of the Brasileirão, which takes place this Wednesday at the Maracanã.
Although the core of the previous team is expected to remain intact, there could be a surprise absence due to the injury suffered by striker Gabriel Martinelli during a match against Arsenal. On the other hand, there is the possibility of Real Madrid’s Vini Jr. returning to the team after being omitted from Diniz’s starting line-up.
Brazil currently lead the qualifiers with six points, ahead of Argentina on goal difference. As anticipation builds for these crucial World Cup qualifiers, fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of the team that will represent Brazil in its quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
