In a thrilling match between Itambé Minas and Suzano, Minas emerged victorious with a 3-0 win in the first game of the best-of-three series between the teams in the semi-finals of the Men’s Volleyball Super League. The game was played in Belo Horizonte, and the team from Minas Gerais put in an impressive performance to take the lead in the series.
The game was a spectator’s delight, as both teams were in top form and put in their best efforts to secure victory. While Suzano made several attacking errors, Minas showed great volume of play to close out the match with ease in three sets. The highlight of the match was Marcus Coelho, who top scored with 20 points and received the Viva Volleyball Trophy. His excellent performance helped the team take a significant lead in the series.
The first set of the match was intense and hard-fought, with both teams displaying great skills and abilities. However, with a better attacking performance, Minas won the set by a narrow 25/22 margin. In the second set, the home team dominated and won the set comfortably(25/16), taking a 2-0 lead in the match. The third set was just as exciting, with both teams fighting hard. However, Minas kept up their good form and won the set and the match 25/21.
Marcus Coelho, voted the best player of the match, expressed his happiness and credited the team’s victory to hard work and preparation. He mentioned that the team needed to get a lot of things right in their team to play well at the legal level, and they managed to do that, leaving them much stronger going into the semi-final.
The win puts Itambé Minas in a good position to advance to the final of the Men’s Volleyball Super League. They need just one more win to reach the final and are looking to repeat their good performance in the second game of the series, on Tuesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Suzano Arena. If Minas win, they will advance to the title decider. However, if the São Paulo team wins, the teams will play a third match on April 22 in Belo Horizonte to determine the first finalist in the Men’s Super League.
