Napoli – Lazio 1:2
Maurizio Sarri’s side started the season with two defeats: to Lecce and to Serie A newcomers Genoa. Napoli, under the leadership of new coach Rudi Garcia, on the other hand, won twice in the first rounds. The hosts went into this game with high expectations, but struggled for accuracy, despite taking 22 shots, only four were on target compared to Lazio’s six.
Lazio’s Luis Alberto opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a flick of the head backwards, taking advantage of Brazilian Felipe Anderson’s excellent work on the right. Napoli responded quickly, leveling the score just two minutes later with Piotr Zielinski’s low deflected shot – 1:1.
The second half continued at a fast pace, with both teams looking for a decisive goal. Lazio’s Daichi Kamada scored the winner in the 52nd minute with a powerful low shot, his first Serie A goal. Felipe Anderson provided the assist again.
Lazio scored twice more, in the 67th and 71st minutes, but Zaccagni and Guendouzi’s goals were disallowed for offside.
Brazilian star Felipe Anderson was on the pitch for Lazio. He left the field in the 80th minute after assisting Lazio’s two goals. On the other hand, Brazilian defender Juan Jesus played 90 minutes, while Nathan was an unused substitute for Napoli.
This win at Napoli marked the first time Lazio had won consecutive games at Napoli since 1937 and ended Napoli’s unbeaten run at home since the beginning of April. Lazio are now 12th in the Serie A standings with three points from three games, while Napoli are fourth with six points from three games.
Atalanta – Monza – 3:0
Brazilian Ederson’s goal in the 35th minute was the winning goal for Atalanta, because it was the first of the match and the opposition didn’t score in response. But Ederson’s partners stood out. Scamacca scored twice, and three more times the referee disallowed goals for the home side. In other words, the bill could be twice as high. But 3-0 is an excellent result. The team has now taken six points from three games in the new league.
Borussia M – Bayern – 1:2
Bayern Munich earned a hard-fought away win against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The hosts could have opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Friedrich hit the crossbar, but they scored in the 30th minute thanks to a corner. Central defender Ko Ikatura headed the ball into the goal, leaving Sven Ulreich with no chance – 1:0. Leroy Sane responded with a shot against the post in the 39th minute, but still equalized in the 58th minute, taking advantage of Kimmich’s pass – 1:1. The hosts’ goalkeeper Nicholas made seven incredible saves, but in the 87th minute, Thel (who came on as a substitute in the 81st minute) gave Bayern a resounding victory – 2:1
