After a fiercely contested Dutch Grand Prix, Formula 1’s focus now turns to Monza (Italian Grand Prix), the home of Ferrari. Although Ferrari has had a forgettable season so far, the team will certainly try to give its Tifosi something to celebrate.
Considered one of the best race tracks on the calendar, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza was built in 1992 as the third purpose-built race track in the world, after Brooklands in the UK and Indianapolis in the USA.
The track stretches for 3.6 km and features long straights, tight chicanes and drivers spend 76% of the lap time and 83% of the lap distance at full throttle.
Weather forecast for the Italian Grand Prix
Compared to last week’s conditions at Zandvoort, Monza is expected to offer comparatively dry and sunny conditions throughout the weekend, with little chance of rain.
