Novak Djokovic advanced effortlessly to the semi-finals of the US Open on Tuesday, beating Taylor Fritz in straight sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-4. This achievement keeps him firmly on course to secure his fourth US Open title, a feat that would equal Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slam victories.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old Ben Shelton earned the distinction of being the youngest American US Open semi-finalist since Andy Roddick in 2003. In Shelton’s incredible journey, he recovered from an almost catastrophic situation during a tie-break in the third set, eventually defeating fellow countryman Frances Tiafoe, ranked 10th, 6-2, 3-6, 6-7, 6-2. He is now ready to face Djokovic in the next semi-final.

Two years ago, Louise was seriously injured in the semi-finals of the US Oppen on this very court. A year of recovery, and again reaching the semi-finals.
“It’s a great feeling. I don’t know if Jenifer knew, but two years ago I was leaving this court in a wheelchair and now I’m proud of myself with lots of people supporting me. It’s an emotional moment to be able to play here again, even more so after winning the semi-final, with my family and my team“.
Their next potential opponents could be another Brazilian pair, Haddad Maia and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, provided they win against Siegemund/Zvonareva. In the other semi-final, Dabrowski/Routliff will compete against the winners of the match between Gauff/Pegula and Xie Shuwei/Wang S.
