As Neymar begins his journey at Al-Hilal, challenges are appearing off the pitch. After his presentation to the Saudi club and his first training session, concerns were raised about his physical condition.
According to Portuguese newspaper Record, the iconic number 10 is suffering from two injuries to the femoral muscle in his right leg, which could put him out of the team for around a month. This unfortunate moment could cause Neymar to miss the first two rounds of the World Cup Qualifiers while representing the Brazilian national team. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is closely monitoring the situation and is considering his exclusion from Fernando Diniz’s team.
The detailed medical report released by Al-Hilal highlights the nature of Neymar’s injuries: “The player is dealing with two injuries to his right quadriceps, both in the quadriceps femoris muscle. The initial injury involves a myofascial lesion in the proximal region, exhibiting mild symptoms that should subside by the end of the week. The second injury affects the distal portion of the tendon, accompanied by edema around it.”
The report goes on to explain: “The structural integrity seems to have been partially compromised. The expected recovery period for the second injury is approximately four weeks, calculated from the player’s arrival at our club. We will diligently monitor the daily progress of both injuries and assess their status via an MRI scan on August 28 to evaluate their respective developments.“
Neymar’s journey at Al-Hilal was initially hindered by these unforeseen muscle injuries. While the club and fans eagerly await his contributions on the pitch, his recovery process will be closely watched in the hope of a speedy return to full fitness.
