After missing out on the chance to sign Lionel Messi, Al Hilal are continuing to add more firepower to their arsenal as they set their sights on signing Brazilian midfielder Willian Arão from Fenerbahce.
Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus has wasted no time in making his team capable of fighting for the Saudi League title, as he intends to call on the experience of former Flamengo player Arão. The Portuguese coach played a key role in the transfer of the Brazilian midfielder to the Turkish club, as Jesus’ recommendation was of great importance in the transfer that cost Fenerbahçe 3 million euros.
According to Turkish website “As Marca”, Al Hilal are now trying to sign Willian and have already made their first offer, having submitted an initial bid of 5.5 million euros for the Brazilian midfielder.
Despite this, Fenerbahce are not willing to let their star player go so easily and are likely to expect a fee of 7.5 million euros for the 31-year-old.
Since arriving at the Turkish giants, the former Flamengo player has become an important figure for the club, playing a total of 45 games, scoring a single goal and providing four assists.
Willian has been a constant presence in the Fenerbahce team and has another year left on his current contract. Al Hilal should therefore not overpay for a player who will become a free agent next summer, but he remains one of their main targets.
Al Hilal reportedly made contact with Massimiliano Allegri and José Mourinho, but after both decided to stay at Juventus and AS Roma, they brought in former coach Jesus once again.
The club had already contacted Bernardo Silva, offering him a successful bid, but the Portuguese reportedly turned down the offer, preferring to move to Paris Saint-Germain.
