Liverpool officially confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig
on Sunday, but despite their second summer acquisition, the club are still interested in Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. Arsenal are also interested in the player, but will only make a move if Thomas Partey leaves the Emirates.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side are close to signing Declan Rice from West Ham United and Jurrien Timber from Ajax. Having already confirmed the signing of Kai Havertz last week, the north London club are on the verge of completing two more acquisitions: Timer and Rice should be presented as Arsenal players before the end of this week.
In addition, Liverpool are still working on their midfield overhaul, having signed Alexis Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, and are still keeping tabs on Lavia and Kephren Thuram from Nice. The Saints are reportedly expecting a fee of £50 million for the Belgian.
In addition, Mason Mount is due to undergo medical examinations on Monday ahead of his £55 million move to Manchester United. After the medical, the Englishman will sign a five-year contract, with an option to extend for another season.
Manchester City are also trying to secure the signing of Josko Gvardiol. RB Leipzig director Eberl recently confirmed that the player’s agent had informed the club of his desire to join Pep Guardiola’s team. It’s likely that Leipzig will want around £100 million, as they will only sell Gvardiol as the most expensive defender of all time.
Chelsea defender César Azpilicueta is on the verge of leaving Inter Milan for Atlético Madrid. The Spaniard had agreed terms with Inter Milan, but after the La Liga side made their interest clear, Azpilicueta preferred to return to Spain and should be presented as a new signing later this week.
Tottenham are also making noise in the transfer market. Spurs are ready to sign their third player, having agreed terms with Manor Solomon as a free agent on a five-year contract. The player’s medical examination is scheduled for Tuesday.
