Two top European clubs made two large offers for Harry Kane and Declan Rice, but both were turned down by the players’ respective clubs of origin. Bayern Munich have finally decided to make their interest in Harry Kane public, as they have submitted their first official offer for Tottenham Hotspur’s talismanic striker. Manchester City also made an initial bid for Declan Rice from West Ham United, but the offer was rejected straight away because it was lower than the one offered by Arsenal, who are preparing to make another bid.
Perhaps the biggest news of the day was Kane’s transfer to Bayern. The Englishman has been on the radar of many clubs, including Manchester United, but Spurs remain unwilling to part with the striker.
The Bavarians are looking for a No9, as Thomas Tuchel remains a great admirer of the England captain. However, Bayern’s initial offer of 70 million euros plus add-ons wasn’t enough to convince Spurs. She was rejected by the Premier League club, according to renowned journalist David Ornstein. It’s likely that the London club will hope for a figure close to 100 million euros, even though Kane only has 12 months left on his current contract.
On the other hand, Rice remains on the wish list of both City and Arsenal, who have already had an offer of 90 million pounds rejected by West Ham United. Pep Guardiola’s side made their first move, but were also turned down by West Ham, according to Fabrizio Romano. Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to make a third offer, close to the £100 million mark, but it’s likely that the three-time champions won’t give up without a fight either.
In addition, Spurs have reached an agreement with Leicester City’s James Maddison and the north London club are closing in on their second signing of the summer window, having signed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who was officially presented on Tuesday.
Paris Saint-Germain, for their part, are closing in on Lucas Hernandez. The Bayern defender has reached an agreement and the transfer is in the final stages, and the Frenchman is fully committed to PSG.
The Bundesliga side are interested in Villarreal’s Pau Torres and have also agreed terms with Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae in the hope of getting the green light from the Italian club.
Juventus have officially announced that Adrien Rabiot has signed a contract extension with the Old Lady, leaving Manchester United. It looked like Rabiot was about to leave, but he turned back. However, Juan Cuadrado is about to leave the Serie A club as a free agent.
Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli are close to signing Roberto Firmino and Eduard Mendy, two big moves for the Saudi club. The Frenchman landed in Milan on Tuesday to undergo medical tests before signing a five-year contract after his deal with Borussia Mönchengladbach expires.
In addition, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek has signed for Milan. The English midfielder will be signed for a fee of 16 million euros, plus 4 million euros in add-ons.
Marseille are close to agreeing a deal to sign Atlético Madrid midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, with a fee of 7 million euros agreed between the two clubs as the transfer is in the final stages before completion.
Manchester City also officially presented Mateo Kovacic, having signed the Croatian midfielder for 30 million pounds.
Chelsea and Man United are set for a showdown in talks over Mason Mount in the next 48 hours, as the two clubs will try to find a way for Mount to join United, after having tabled an offer of 55 million pounds for the England international.
