Audi has hired Swiss driver Neel Jani as a simulator driver for its Formula 1 project. Jani won the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Endurance Championship, and also competed in Formula E.
Jani will be responsible for supporting the development of Audi’s power unit with work on the simulator. He will use his experience in Formula 1 and other motorsport series to help the team develop a competitive power unit for 2026.
Audi aims to test its first full-power unit by the end of this year. The team is also working on the development of a new simulator that will be used to help develop the power unit and the car.
Jani’s appointment is a big blow for Audi, which is preparing for its Formula 1 debut in 2026. He is a highly experienced driver with a wealth of motorsport knowledge. His experience will be invaluable to the team in developing the power unit and the car.
