Praia Clube booked their place in the final of the Women’s Volleyball Superliga by beating Sesc Flamengo 3-1 in a thrilling match. The first set was dominated by Sesc Flamengo, with the team showing a strong volume of play and excellent defense. The blocking and libero Laís were particularly impressive, denying Praia Clube any chance of a reaction, closing out the set with a 25-16 victory.
However, Praia Clube came back strongly in the second set, winning 30-28 thanks to an excellent performance from Tainara, who came off the bench to replace Anne Buijs. In the third set, Sesc Flamengo got off to a good start, opening up an 18-15 lead. However, Praia Clube reacted and managed to win the set 26-24. In the fourth and final set, Praia Clube took control right from the start, establishing a good lead which they maintained throughout the set to secure a 25-15 victory and book their place in the final.
Tainara was the star of the match, coming off the bench to help Praia’s attack and lead the team to victory. She scored 20 points and was awarded the Viva Volleyball Trophy for her excellent performance. Speaking after the match, Tainara expressed her joy at the victory and gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the team’s success.
Victory guarantees a ‘Pão de Queijo’ Classic, as Praia Clube will face Gerdau Mina, from the same state of Minas Gerais, in the title match. The two teams have a great history of intense and hotly contested matches, and fans are looking forward to another exciting encounter.
It’s worth remembering that the road to the final of the Women’s Volleyball Superliga wasn’t easy for Praia Clube. In fact, they played a tough semi-final against Sesc Flamengo, which was evenly contested over two games. In the first match, Sesc Flamengo won 3-0 away from home in two sets, while in the second match Praia Clube won 3-2 away from home.
Meanwhile, Gerdau Minas had already secured their place in the final by winning both semi-final matches against Osasco, 3-1 and 3-0. As a result, they will be rested and fully prepared for the title race, which promises to be a fierce battle between two of the best teams in the league.
Praia Clube will be looking to build on their impressive performance against Sesc Flamengo and continue their winning streak in the final. However, they will be up against the great Gerdau Minas, who will be eager to win the championship and consolidate their status as the best team in the league.
