The Serie A of the Brazilian Championship continued to boil with the start of another round of strong emotions, as well as all the talent on show in the league. Here are some of the results from the second round of the Brazilian Serie A:
Fluminense vs Atlético
Fluminense secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Athletico in their recent Serie A clash, with Lima and Nino scoring for the home side.
The first goal came in the 11th minute, when Lima shot into the back of the net, giving Fluminense an early lead. Athletico tried to turn the game around, but couldn’t break through Fluminense’s resilient defense.
Fluminense extended their lead in the 67th minute, with Nino scoring after an accurate assist from Alexsander. The hosts continued to dominate the match and denied Athletico any chance of getting back into the game.
Cuiabá-Red Bull Bragantino
Cuiabá hosted Redbull Bragantino in a recent Brasileiro Serie A match, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá.
The match started cautiously for both teams, but Redbull Bragantino began to threaten first. However, Cuiabá’s defense stood strong and managed to hold off their opponents. In the 67th minute, Cuiabá’s persistence paid off, with Matheuzinho scoring the first goal of the match after an assist from Marlon.
Cuiabá continued to press for a second goal, but it was Bragantino who found the back of the net in the 85th minute when Thiago Borbas scored the equalizer, assisted by Aderlan. Despite both teams having chances to win the game in the final phase, the match ended in a draw.
São Paulo vs América Mineiro
São Paulo beat América Mineiro 3-0 in a Brazilian Serie A match at the Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo.
The home side started well and it wasn’t long before Luciano opened the scoring in the 21st minute, assisted by Michel Araújo. América Mineiro tried to get back into the game, but São Paulo’s defense held firm. The second half was much the same, with both teams struggling to create clear chances.
However, in the 82nd minute, Jonathan Calleri scored São Paulo’s second goal, assisted by Alisson. The home side hadn’t finished yet and Marcos Paulo scored the third goal in stoppage time (90’+5′) to round off the scoring.
Cruzeiro-Gremio
Cruzeiro secured a 1-0 win over Gremio in a Brazilian Serie A match at the Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte.
The game was evenly balanced in the first half, with both teams creating chances but failing to score. In the second half, Cruzeiro dominated possession and their persistence paid off. In the 64th minute, Bruno Rodrigues scored the only goal of the game, with an assist from Filipe Machedo. Grêmio tried to equalize, but were left with just ten players in stoppage time (90’+7′) when Lucas Oliveira was sent off. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Gremio continued to press, but Cruzeiro held on for the win.
