Wrestler Gable Stevenson, who has been dubbed WWE’s next big star, has now apparently expressed his frustration in a tweet at not having made his debut yet. The 22-year-old signed with WWE in August 2021 and was called up to RAW a few months later, but has yet to make his debut with the company.
For seven months after closing the deal to join the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) roster, the 2020 Olympic gold medal wrestler worked hard to learn how to make the transition to the world of professional wrestling. According to Steveson, he is ready for his WWE debut and is simply waiting for the call to officially enter the ring.
Now, in a tweet, Steveson seems to have shown some frustration with his situation. He sent a short tweet saying: “I just want to fight,” Steveson wrote.
Renowned wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer reported last month that the star was set to debut at the WrestleMania PPV with a “monster push” on RAW. However, that plan was canceled and now, after another year without appearing, there is talk of returning to amateur wrestling and competing in the 2024 Olympics.
Stevenson, who is also an Olympic gold medal winner, made his debut at Wrestlemania 2022. A heart procedure interrupted plans to debut at WrestleMania 38, with reports in October 2022 that he had started training at the WWE Performance Center full-time.
Gable Stevenson is thinking of retiring from wrestling for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but WWE remains a priority.
Steveson’s representative also received a message asking for confirmation that he plans to take another year off from competition and enter the Olympic trials. However, the dates for the races have not yet been set, but they have taken place in April of the Olympic year at the last three Games.
The US wrestler was also seen on WWE TV on the 30th anniversary episode of WWE Raw, where he can be seen helping Kurt Angle. Interestingly, Steveson’s brother currently performs as Damon Kemp in WWE NXT.
