Knicks – 106, Cavaliers – 95
The New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 to advance to the second round of the play-offs for the first time since 2013. Jalen Brunson scored 23 points to help the Knicks create an 18-point lead. The team’s defense and rebounding dominance were crucial elements in the victory, as they kept the Cavaliers under 100 points for the fourth time in the series. The Knicks also had a 48-30 advantage in rebounds, with Mitchell Robinson grabbing 18 rebounds, 11 of which were difficult in nature.
Grizzlies – 116, Lakers – 99
The Memphis-Grizzlies beat the Los-Angeles-Lakers 116-99 in Game 5 of the series, scored by Desmond Bane and Ja Morant. Morant had 31 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists against Bane’s 33 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The Grizzlies want to even the series in Friday night’s game in Los Angeles.
Warriors – 123, Kings – 116
The Golden State Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings 123-116 to move one step closer to the playoffs. Curry led the way with 31 points and 8 assists, while Klay Thompson scored 25 points. Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins had regular games, scoring 21 and 20 points.
Heat – 128, Bucks – 126
Butler was the hero of the night as the Heat emerged 128-126 winners in overtime, clinching an important 4-1 series victory over the No. 1 overall seed, the Milwaukee Bucks. Butler scored 42 points in his most recent brilliant post-season effort against the Bucks. The Bucks blew a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter, the second game in a row in which they struggled in the fourth quarter.
