According to some sources, Real Madrid are considering buying Celta de Vigo star Gabri Veiga if their move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is unsuccessful.
This season, 20-year-old Veiga has been an important player for Celta. The attacking midfielder made 26 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. Veiga played for Celta’s youth team before moving up to the professional ranks.
Meanwhile, Bellingham has been a crucial player for Dortmund once again this season, scoring ten goals and six assists in 30 games this season.
However, Real Madrid are looking for possible alternatives due to the high price of signing the Englishman. As well as Veiga, Napoli’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is also on the list of players the Merengues are looking to add to their squad.
In addition, rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz. The 19-year-old has been a key member of the Bundesliga team since last season, when he scored 11 goals and assisted 14 times in 32 appearances.
However, due to an ACL injury, Florian missed much of the 2022/23 season, returning to play on the last matchday, already scoring twice and providing an assist in Leverkusen’s recent win over AS Monaco in the UEFA Europa League.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been watching the young German player for some time. Wirtz has impressed Real’s president, Florentino Perez, who intends to make a bid for Florian’s talent.
Real Madrid are looking to add reinforcements in midfield, as Luka Modric is 37 and Toni Kroos is due to end his contract in the next few months.
