Basketball enthusiasts and Shaquille O’Neal fans were treated to an exciting discovery during the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation’s annual charity dinner, “The Event”, held at the famous MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The flamboyant O’Neal, known for his imposing presence on and off the court, has revealed his big goal of adding “team governor” to his already impressive CV.
The basketball great revealed his vision for the future of professional basketball in Sin City in an exclusive interview with The Messenger’s Arash Markazi. If the NBA decides to expand its presence to Las Vegas, O’Neal expressed his strong desire to lead an ownership group. “I’d like to have my own group,” O’Neal declared with passion. “I know Vegas hasn’t gotten an NBA team yet, but if they ever get to that point, I’d like to be a part of it.” I don’t want to work with anyone, I want it all for myself.”
This proclamation by the great NBA legend moved the guests at the gala, sparking conversations about the possible introduction of an NBA team in Las Vegas and O’Neal’s participation in its leadership.
The Event itself is a worthy cause, generating money for Boys and Girls Clubs and Communities in Schools in Las Vegas and Atlanta. O’Neal’s philanthropic efforts and lifelong dedication to improving the community are still strongly felt.
Shaquille O’Neal’s brilliant career goes beyond basketball.
