Defending champions
Cruzeiro, the reigning men’s champions, are coming off the back of a spectacular season. For the second year in a row, the team beat Minas in an all-Minas final. Led by Filipe Ferraz, Cruzeiro solidified their dominance not only nationally, but also on the continental stage. The team ended the previous season as champions of Minas Gerais, South America and the country – a trifecta that says a lot about their prowess.
In the women’s team, Praia Clube, from Minas Gerais, holds the championship title. The team won against Minas in a decisive 3-0 contest, ending a historic rivalry in which Minas beat Praia in the finals of the three previous editions.

When it comes to the biggest national volleyball champions, Cruzeiro leads the men’s category with eight titles. Next up is Minas, with seven. In the women’s category, Rio de Janeiro holds the record with an impressive 12 titles, while Osasco and Minas are tied with five each.
