Endrick, Palmeiras’ star player, has yet to join Real Madrid following his 60 million euro transfer, as the 17-year-old is due to arrive at the Santiago Bernabéu next season, but the teenager is already annoyed by all the “attention”.
Brazil has long been a hotbed of talent, so it’s no surprise that young Brazilian players like Endrick have attracted attention from all over the world. In a recent interview, the Palmeiras striker revealed that he only wanted to go to Real Madrid, despite having received offers from other European clubs.
In an interview with FIFA’s official website, Endrick spoke about his ambition to win a sixth World Cup for Brazil and a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris next year.
“I’ve always had my heart set on Real Madrid. Other clubs wanted to sign me, but I only wanted to go to Real Madrid. I always talk to Vini, Eder and Rodrygo and I hope we can bring joy to the Madrid fans with our soccer” said the Brazilian prodigy.
Having made his name in Serie A, Endrick has impressed everyone with his phenomenal skills and that’s why Real Madrid didn’t wait to sign the teenager. Real Madrid have already had success with players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
With so much attention from all over the world, Endrick insisted that he preferred not to have all eyes on him.
“I’m not going to lie. I’d rather have a lot less attention. That way, I would develop better” Endrick added.
“It’s obvious that the World Cup is what I want to play in. God willing, I want to win the sixth [Copa do Mundo] for Brazil and make everyone happy. I’d be very grateful if that happened one day. But my next goal in the national team is to be at the Olympic Games” said the young man.
This year, the 17-year-old has scored 7 goals in 37 appearances in all games and has also provided an assist.
