The latest iteration of the EA Sports video game, EAFC 24, which was renamed after the differences with FIFA, will be released at the end of this month. Before the launch of the game, the ratings of many players in the match were revealed and Brazilian defender Thiago Silva didn’t like his rating of 84.
Although the Chelsea defender is the second highest rated player in the team, alongside Reece James, and two points behind Christopher Nkunku, Silva made his displeasure clear in a recent interview with the Premier League’s YouTube channel.
EA has shared the ratings of many of Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, among others, and Chelsea’s ratings have also been released. After a disappointing season last year, in which the Blues finished 12th in the Premier League, many Chelsea stars saw their rankings in the latest edition of the game fall.
Silva is no different either: he was previously rated 86 in FIFA 23. After seeing his rating drop to 84, Silva felt that the creators were watching soccer with their “eyes closed”.
“They’re not watching soccer, they’re watching the games like this (with their eyes closed),” said the 38-year-old.
When asked by the presenter if he would like to change anything about his individual attributes, Silva said that he would like to contribute more to Chelsea’s attack.
“Not really. I think I can obviously improve offensively, because I didn’t score last year. This year, I think I can improve my attack, because defensively I’m doing well” added the Brazilian.
Silva isn’t the only player to have seen his rating fall: Raheem Sterling’s rating in the EAFC 24 dropped three points to 83. Enzo Fernandes, Ben Chilwell and new signing Moises Caicedo are the only players with a rating above 80, which means neutral fans won’t be too keen on Chelsea.
Caicedo, on the other hand, received a big increase of 10 ratings compared to the last edition, when he was at Brighton, while Nicolas Jackson went up 8 ratings to 78.
