With these excellent results, Brazil are now on the brink of victory, needing just one more win in the three matches scheduled for Saturday. The first of these will be the doubles match between Rafael Matos and Felipe Meligeni, from Brazil, against Johannes Ingildsen and Christian Sigsgaard, from Denmark.
However, despite Brazil’s advantage, their captain, Jaime Oncins, remains cautious, stressing the importance of maintaining focus and preparation. “Of course it’s important to come away with 2-0, but we haven’t won anything here yet. We’ve already talked a bit to stay focused, and we don’t know what the Danish team will do with the pair. Maybe they’ll change. So we have to worry a lot about our preparation” he said.
This Davis Cup clash between Brazil and Denmark promises more thrilling tennis action as both teams vie for a coveted spot in the top tier of the competition in 2024.
