Minas took the lead in the Women’s Superliga semi-finals after beating Osasco in the first game of the series. The team from Minas Gerais won 3-1 , with scores of 25-19, 27-25, 16-25 and 26-24, in a match played on Wednesday night at the José Liberatti Gymnasium in Osasco.
The match began with a strong performance from Minas, who dominated the first set thanks to Kisy’s serve, which made it difficult for Osasco to receive. Luizomar’s team tried to react, but Minas kept the lead and closed out the set 25-19.
The second set was more competitive, with both teams exchanging points. Minas took the lead once again, but Osasco managed to catch up and even went close. However, Minas managed to hold on and won the set 27-25.
In the third set, Osasco came out strong, taking advantage of Minas’ mistakes and opening up a significant lead. The visiting team tried to reduce the deficit, but Osasco managed to close out the set 25-16.
The fourth set was the most balanced of the match, with both teams playing their best volleyball. Minas led, but Osasco managed to tie the game at 21-21. However, Minas managed to organize themselves and won the set 26-24, securing the victory and taking the lead in the series.
Kisy was the highlight for Minas, with 20 points, the same as Tiffany from Osasco. However, it was Pri Heldes who received the Viva Vôlei Trophy, awarded to the best player of the match.
Victory gives Minas the advantage in the best-of-three series. If they win their next match, they will secure their place in the Superliga final. Osasco, meanwhile, will need to win the second leg and force a third match.
The second game of the series is scheduled for Tuesday night at the Arena Minas in Belo Horizonte. Should a third game be necessary, it will be played next Friday at the José Liberatti Gymnasium in Osasco.
