The Brazilian striker believes Arsenal have everything it takes to win the title this season. Gabriel Jesus, who left Manchester City for Arsenal in the summer, has issued a warning to his former team. The two clubs are competing in a highly intense Premier League title race, with Arsenal currently holding a six-point lead over the defending champions ahead of Sunday’s game against West Ham United.
If the Gunners are to win the league this season, they will end their 19-year drought. Their last win was in the 2003-04 season, when Arsene Wenger was manager.
Arsenal’s young team have been playing some brilliant soccer on the pitch, keeping Manchester City at bay. The Brazilians have been playing at the peak of their powers, with players like Gabriel, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus being key to the Gunners’ success.
According to Football.London, one of the Brazilian superstars Jesus told BBC Sport that he had faced a similar circumstance at the start of his career while playing for Brazilian club Palmeiras.
“I had experience when Palmeiras went 20 years without winning the championship, it’s the same here. That’s why I came. I’m not saying we’re going to win the league because nothing has been decided yet, but we’re there, fighting until the end.”
Since his arrival at Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer, Gabriel Jesus has been a crucial player for the team, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 25 appearances so far.
Despite missing a significant part of the season due to surgery following an injury sustained during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Jesus has been in good form lately, netting three times in the last two games.
