After Bayern Munich’s 3-0 defeat by Manchester City on April 11, reports suggest that Sadio Mane had a heated argument with his teammate, Leroy Sane.
BILD reports that the argument turned physical, Mane allegedly hitting Sane in the face. The situation was eventually brought under control with the help of other players, and Sane was reportedly told to leave the dressing room to avoid any escalation. There has been no statement or comment from the German champions on the matter.
Meanwhile, in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, last year’s semi-finalists Manchester City inflicted a crushing defeat on Thomas Tuchel’s side at home, scoring three times through Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland at the Etihad Stadium. This result puts the Cityzens in a commanding position to advance to the semi-finals.
Leroy Sane, who was involved in the fight, started the match against his former team, while Sadio Mane came on as a substitute.
Sadio Mane has been in the spotlight before during his time at Bayern Munich, with reports in the Mirror indicating that he had a dispute with former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Since joining the German club from Liverpool at the start of the season, Sadio Mane has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 32 games for the Bavarians.
After Tuchel’s appointment, Bayern Munich’s run in the DFB Pokal came to an end at the hands of SC Freiberg, as well as the current possibility of being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
