In a recent interview with Boleiragem, prolific Fluminense striker Germán Cano shared his thoughts on the team’s current success, the departure of coach Fernando Diniz to the Brazilian national team and the transition under assistant coach Marcão. Cano, who is in scintillating form with 33 goals and the title of top scorer in Brazilian soccer, provided valuable insights into the dynamics of the club.
Cano recognized the fundamental role that coach Fernando Diniz played in his development at Fluminense. He praised Diniz for taking the players out of their comfort zones, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement. Cano’s belief in Diniz’s technical ability goes beyond Fluminense, as he expressed confidence in the coach’s potential to repeat his success with the Brazilian national team.
“In the national team, I think everything will work out, as it is happening at Fluminense. He always talks about work. I wished him success after the game against Fortaleza. For my part, we’re going to do our utmost to make his time with the national team even greater than it already is. The process will be very good. The national team players will learn a lot from him and I think they’ll be very happy“, predicts Cano.
As Diniz and his assistant, Eduardo Barros, have to join the Brazilian national team during the “Data Fifa”, Fluminense will be under the guidance of assistant coach Marcão. Cano expressed full confidence in Marcão’s abilities, praising his exceptional management skills, his rapport with the team and his wealth of experience. The striker believes that the team will be in good hands during this transition period.
“Marcão is a sensational guy, he has good team management, everyone likes him, I like him. He’s a guy you can talk to about anything. He’s an exceptional guy. Marcão is a guy who is part of my process and the team. He fits in very well. In training, we also focus a lot on your work. He was a very experienced player“, emphasized Cano.
In 12 days’ time, Fluminense face Vasco in a much-anticipated derby in São Januário. However, the biggest test of the year is coming up on the 27th, when the team faces Internacional in the Libertadores semi-final.
