Arsenal – Manchester United – 3:1
Arteta should have been ahead early on, but Kai Havertz wasted his shot and Lisandro Martinez blocked Bukayo Saka before any damage could be done. United took the lead just before the half-hour mark when Christian Eriksen fed Marcus Rashford and the Englishman scored with a header from the left wing.
A minute later, Arsenal equalized again, and captain Martin Odegaard was on hand to score the equalizer after a cross from Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli. Havertz was brought down inside the United box by Aaron Wan-Bissaka and the referee awarded the penalty, but later overturned the decision thanks to VAR.
Alejandro Garnacho finished after a quick United counter-attack in the 88th minute, but the Argentinian was offside. Rice scored a dramatic goal in injury time (90+6 min), hitting a powerful shot straight from the corner to beat Onana at his near post.
Manchester United went on the attack in search of an equalizer, which allowed Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus to launch a counter-attack (90+11 min), combine with Fabio Viera and shoot the ball home to seal the three points.
Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes put in a good performance, was resilient and played the whole match, Martinelli was a constant threat and was substituted after 90 minutes, while Jesus also impressed after coming on in the 76th minute.
Casemiro had a rare bad game, struggled a bit but played the whole match, while Antony was impressive but was substituted in the 84th minute.
Liverpool – Aston Villa – 3:0
Liverpool needed just three minutes to open the scoring: Summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai continued his impressive start to life on Merseyside, scoring a powerful goal straight from a corner.
The former RB Leipzig player hit a powerful shot from the edge of the box to give Klopp’s side an early lead. Trent Alexander-Arnold then showed his class by finding Mohamed Salah with a perfect long ball, the Egyptian fed Darwin Nunez, who unleashed a first-time shot that hit the post and went in after being deflected by Matty Cash.
From the next free-kick, Szoboszlai passed to Joel Matip and the defender was unmarked, but couldn’t get his header on target, wasting a golden chance.
Cash tried to make up for his unfortunate mistake with a fine header attempt, but Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson was on hand to keep the goal clean. Liverpool wasted another chance to make it 3-0 when Salah advanced and laid the ball off to Nunez, who failed to hit the target. Salah eventually made it 3-0, tapping the ball in from close range after an Andy Robertson corner to wrap up a convincing win.
Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson made an important save and was impressive, as usual, completing the entire game. His fellow countryman Douglas Luiz didn’t have much influence on the game and was sent off in the 72nd minute, while Diego Carlos was injured in the 20th minute and had to be substituted.
Crystal Palace – Wolverhampton – 3:2
Brazilian João Gomez played 81 minutes for Wolverhampton; Matheus Cunha played the entire match, scoring a goal in the 96th minute.
