Arsenal’s talented Brazilian player Gabriel Martinelli has expressed his delight at his team’s recent signings in the ongoing transfer window, believing that the strengthened squad will contribute significantly to their title ambitions. Under the guidance of coach Mikel Arteta, Arsenal made some important acquisitions, reinforcing crucial positions with high-quality players.
The first surprise was the signing of German striker Kai Havertz from Chelsea, followed by the successful capture of his main target, Declan Rice, for a staggering fee in excess of 100 million pounds. Recently, the club also received Dutch defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax, concluding the deals quickly and indicating their determination to acquire their preferred picks.
Arsenal now have plenty of options in midfield and attack, with Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Rice and Odegaard adding depth to the midfield, while players like Saka, Martinelli, Smith-Rowe, Jesus, Trossard, Nketiah and Nelson increase the attacking options alongside Havertz. Their defensive line is also remarkably deep, an encouraging sign for Arteta’s ambitions.
Martinelli sees this greater depth in the squad as a positive development that aligns with his aspirations to win the Premier League title. With quality players in various positions, Arsenal’s prospects look promising as they aim to compete at the highest level.
“I think we need to prepare for the worst, we need to prepare for the best teams and the whole team is doing that. It’s very important that our team has the depth it has, because we have a lot of games in the season and it’s going to be difficult again. We’re ready to play and it’s good to have so many options. At times last season, the lack of depth in some positions and injuries to key players affected our results negatively and possibly led to our Premier League defeat. This year, we hope to be successful in all the competitions.“
Martinelli also hopes that his depth will allow for rotation between competitions and, with the resumption of the Champions League in the Emirates, the players will also get the playing time they expect.
