The Brazilian Women’s National Team continued its meticulous preparation for the very important World Cup that will begin in the next few days. A training session open to the media was held on Saturday morning at the spacious Royal Pines course on the Gold Coast, Australia.
Under the guidance of coach Pia Sundhage, the team began their warm-up routine, allowing the press to observe their preparations for a brief 20 minutes before the end of the activity. The Swedish coach then led the players in an 11-on-11 team session, focusing on refining their technical skills and tactical strategies. With just a short time to go until the start of the World Cup, defender Rafael expressed his admiration for the team’s unwavering dedication.
“The training sessions have been incredibly intense, and the girls have responded admirably. As with Pia, we emphasized the physical aspect, and now we’re going to delve into the more complex technical and tactical aspects. Physically, everyone did their best during those days“, shared Rafaelle.
The national team’s girls will kick off their World Cup campaign in Adelaide against little Panama, whose male counterparts have just finished runners-up in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. They will then travel to the Suncorp Stadium to face France, a European titan, before playing their final group game against Jamaica.
The Brazilian national team will leave the Gold Coast on Tuesday and head to Brisbane for the final stage of their preparations for the Women’s World Cup. This tournament marks the first time that the teams will have a fixed venue during the initial phase of the competition. The Brazilian soccer contingent will be staying at the Best Western North Lakes Hotel, with training sessions scheduled to take place at the Moreton Bay Central Sports Complex.
