Vasco da Gama are actively working on the transfer market to strengthen their squad ahead of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The club’s current focus is on securing the services of midfielder Fransérgio.
Although the Vasco board’s ideal target for the midfielder position is Colombian Gustavo Cuéllar, the club is exploring alternative options. One of them is Brazilian Fransérgio, currently at Bordeaux in France, where he plays as a versatile central midfielder.
Discussions regarding a possible transfer of Fransérgio are still in their early stages, with the main focus on assessing the financial aspects involved in acquiring the player. It’s important to note that no official offer has been made by Vasco so far.
The situation is somewhat favorable for Vasco, as Bordeaux recently failed to win promotion to the top flight of French soccer. This factor could facilitate negotiations if Vasco decide to go ahead with their interest in Fransérgio.
Fransérgio has been playing in European soccer since 2013 and currently has a contract with Bordeaux until June 2024. The player has expressed his desire to return to Brazil and sees Vasco as an interesting opportunity.
Last season, Fransérgio made 37 appearances, contributing four goals and two assists. His experience and versatility in midfield make him an attractive target for Vasco, who want to strengthen their squad for the challenges of the Brazilian Championship.
As Vasco continue their search for reinforcements, they will carefully evaluate all options and consider the feasibility of securing Fransérgio’s services to bolster their midfield and improve their prospects in the coming campaign.
