Bayern Munich are anxiously awaiting a response from Tottenham Hotspur about the possible sale of their star player and England captain, Harry Kane. Despite the rumors circulating about Bayern’s offers, a final decision has not yet been reached.
According to a report on Bbc.com, Bayern Munich have reportedly made at least one offer for Kane. German publication Bild also claims that personal terms between Kane and the 30-year-old striker have already been agreed, reinforcing Bayern’s hopes of securing the talented player.
Although reports that Bayern have imposed a deadline for a Spurs decision by Friday are being played down, frustration within the German club is growing due to the current situation. With only one year left on Kane’s contract, Bayern are aware that this could be their last chance to cash in on their top scorer.
Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading scorer has given no indication that he is willing to extend his contract, which further complicates matters. If Spurs chairman Daniel Levy decides to retain the services of the England striker, it would end the club’s chance of making a significant profit from his transfer.
In an attempt to find a solution before the start of the new season, Bayern officials met with Levy earlier this week, but discussions between the two parties failed to reach an agreement. Both Spurs and Bayern have crucial matches on the horizon as they prepare for next season.
Tottenham Hotspur are scheduled to kick off their Premier League campaign with an away game against Brentford on August 13. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich will face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup a day earlier.
With the transfer window scheduled to close on September 1, all parties involved are eager to find a solution as soon as possible. Both Tottenham and Bayern understand the importance of solidifying their squads before the start of the new season.
