Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for life after Kylian Mbappe, as the French club are trying to sign Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman has a release clause of 50 million euros, but this will rise to 100 million euros if it is not triggered before August 1st.
According to transfer window expert Fabrizio Romano, Dembele has already given the green light to PSG and has a verbal agreement on a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 giants. The Parisians have also sent a formal letter to inform Barcelona of their intentions, trying to close the deal in time.
Dembele has already asked Barcelona for formal “permission” to negotiate with PSG. It is now up to the two clubs to reach an agreement and complete the transfer paperwork within a certain timeframe, or the two parties could find another way to complete the deal.
In addition, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi has no intention of accepting the initial 30 million euros offered by Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League for Marco Verratti. The Italian has already agreed a three-year contract, but his current owners are expecting a higher price.
Liverpool are ready to submit their second offer, in the region of 45 million pounds, for their midfield target, Roméo Lavia. Southampton are hoping for a fee close to £50 million and have already rejected Liverpool’s first offer.
In addition, Arsenal are in contact with David Raya ‘s representatives to start talks about the goalkeeper’s salary. Previously, Bayern Munich had also approached Brentford about a deal, however Romano reported that the player would prefer to move to Arsenal rather than Bayern.
Talks are ongoing between all parties, but the sticking point will be Brentford’s £40 million fee. The Bavarians want a new goalkeeper, as Yann Sommer is about to join Inter Milan.
In addition, Manchester United are expected to announce their decision on Mason Greenwood ‘s future before the Premier League opener on August 14. The final decision will be made by the club and coach Erik ten Hag is not expected to play any role.
