Felipe Queiros signs contract with Cearense
Felipe Queiros, a brilliant 25-year-old forward, has signed for Fortaleza Basquete Cearense (NBB) in an interesting transfer for next season. Queiros, who measures 201 cm, previously played for Corinthians, where he showed his skills in 31 NBB games last season. Despite his low statistics of 1.9 points per game (ppg) and 1.2 rebounds per game (rpg), his efforts were fundamental in allowing the team to reach the semi-finals.
Before joining Corinthians, Queiros played in 29 NBB games with Minas, averaging 4.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. He also played in seven BCL Americas games, averaging 3.6 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. Queiros’ commitment to the sport is demonstrated by his former affiliations with six clubs, including Vivo/Franca, Winner/Limeira, Rio Claro, Ponta Grossa, Basquete Curitiba and Curitiba.
Santiago Ferreyra joins Paulistano
In another notable deal, Paulistano/Corpore São Paulo (NBB) has signed 26-year-old Argentinian forward Santiago Ferreyra for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Ferreyra, who measures 188 cm, recently demonstrated his skills by playing for Trotamundos in the Venezuelan SPB league this summer. Last year, he played in three leagues in two countries, averaging 7.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in 20 SPB games. Ferreyra’s performances were key to Trotamundos finishing the regular season as the second best club in the league and progressing to the playoffs.
Ferreyra spent most of the season with San Martin in Argentina’s La Liga, where he averaged 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 34 appearances. He also played for San Martin in the Argentinian LDD, where he averaged 1.5 ppg and 1.5 rpg in 8 games. Ferreyra’s professional career has included spells at Hindu, Union de Santa Fe, Barrio Parque, San Lorenzo and Comunicaciones, which earned him the LaLiga Torneo Super 20 Conferencia Norte 2 title in 2022.
Vinicius Pastor joins Mogi das Cruzes Basquete
Mogi das Cruzes Basketball (NBB) has strengthened its squad by signing 32-year-old forward Vinicius Pastor for the 2023-24 season. Pastor’s former club was U. Corinthians (NBB), where he averaged 3.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game in 32 games. Pastor is expected to have a better game and more playing time now that he has a new opportunity in the NBB. Notably, in 2015, his team won the Regular Season of Group A of the Paulista League.
Kayo Goncalves signs for PS Karlsruhe Lions
Kayo Gonçalves, a 23-year-old Brazilian forward, has been signed by the PS Karlsruhe Lions (ProA) for the upcoming 2023-24 season. Gonçalves, who measures 203 cm and weighs 96 kg, is the team’s second import, joining O’Showen Williams from the United States.
Last season, Gonçalves made a name for himself playing for Iskra Svit in the Nike SBL in Slovakia. In 35 games, he averaged 15.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal per game. His services were key to the success of Iskra Svit, who won the cup and progressed to the semi-finals of the league. His outstanding performance earned him a spot on Eurobasket.com’s Slovak League third team for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
