One of the biggest sagas of the summer transfer window has finally come to an end, with Manchester United closing in on a deal to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea for a fee of £60 million. United’s initial offer of 55 million pounds remained valid, with 5 million pounds added on. The two clubs met recently and talked in person, which resulted in a breakthrough in negotiations.
The England international, who has just one year remaining on his current contract, is set to join United on a five-year deal with an optional clause to extend it by a further year. On the other hand, Arsenal are close to completing their third signing of the summer window, having agreed a fee with Ajax for Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal made an offer of 45 euros on Monday, which the Dutch club accepted. The player has already agreed a long-term contract with Arsenal, and final talks are underway before the medical is scheduled.

Aston Villa have managed the feat of snapping up Villarreal defender Pau Torres after reaching an agreement with the La Liga club for 35 million euros, plus add-ons, up to a possible fee of 40 million euros. A medical examination has been scheduled for the Spaniard, who is expected to sign a contract until 2028.

In addition, Saudi Arabian clubs remain strong on the market. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr convinced Marcelo Brozovic and a deal until 2026 was signed between the two parties, with Inter Milan receiving a fee of 22 million euros. Al Ahli also struck a deal with former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, who was a free agent and agreed to a contract until 2026, becoming the latest player to join the Saudi Pro League. Firmino will be joined by Eduard Mendy once the deal is completed.
Saudi League champions Al-Ittihad are also closing in on a third big-money transfer as they are ready to sign Celtic winger Jota. After Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante, Jota could be another big signing.
