Arsenal are getting closer and closer to Declan Rice, as the club have finally submitted their third bid for the England international, an offer worth 105 million pounds. Mikel Arteta’s team remains “hopeful” of reaching an agreement. In addition, Tottenham, their rivals on the other side of town, are also ready to sign James Maddison from Leicester City for a fee of 40 million pounds.
After the Foxes were relegated, they always struggled to keep hold of Maddison, who was also on Newcastle United’s radar. However, the English midfielder has chosen Spurs as his next destination and the deal will be completed by the end of this week.
It will be the second signing of the summer for new coach Ange Postecoglou, after Spurs previously introduced Guglielmo Vicario following his £17 million transfer from Empoli.
Returning to the Rice saga, it is not yet known how West Ham United will respond to Arsenal’s offer, but they are expected to wait for a second offer from Manchester City, as they rejected the first one.
In addition, Kai Havertz will soon be presented as an Arsenal player, after a fee of 65 million pounds was agreed, and personal terms were also finalized between the club and the player.
Inter Milan have signed striker Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach. The Frenchman was signed as a free agent after his contract with the Bundesliga club expired and signed a five-year deal.
Milan, for their part, are not lagging behind their rivals and are also making noise in the market, trying to sign Christian Pulisic from Chelsea. Previously, they had also agreed terms with midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek. Chelsea are demanding 25 million euros for Pulisic, and the US international is interested in the move as the two clubs continue to negotiate over the fee.
Bayern Munich are close to signing Napoli defender Kim Min-jae. Personal terms were agreed two weeks ago. The player is currently in military service and, once completed, the Bavarians will pay his release clause and the South Korean will sign a contract until 2028.
