The last time Alonso secured a victory in the F1 Spanish Grand Prix was a decade ago, in 2013. This weekend, he has the potential to captivate fans once again. However, his path to victory could be hampered by the formidable drivers of the Red Bull team.
The organizers of the Spanish Grand Prix recently confirmed a return to the old layout, with two right-hand turns to complete the lap. This change has been requested by several drivers in recent years, with the aim of improving the racing experience in Barcelona.
Max Verstappen’s remarkable victory in Monaco not only demonstrated his talent, but also increased his lead in the championship by 39 points. As the Formula 1 season progresses, Verstappen is looking to further solidify his advantage on one of the few street circuits of the year.
Based on Met Office weather reports, Friday’s practice sessions are expected to be dry, with a combination of sunny and cloudy intervals. However, there is a slight chance of 30% of light rain after 2pm.
On Saturday, showers are forecast for the afternoon, with a 40% chance of rain. There is also a chance of thunderstorms, and the temperature should reach 25 degrees. On Sunday, the likelihood of rain increases further to 50%, with the possibility of thunderstorms similar to those on Saturday.
The schedule for the 2023 F1 Spanish Grand Prix is as follows. On Friday, June 2, the first practice session is scheduled to take place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. local time. This will be followed by the second free practice session, which will take place from 17:00 to 18:00. On Saturday, June 3, there will be a third practice session, from 12:30 to 13:30. At the end of the day, the qualifying session will take place from 16:00 to 17:00. Finally, on Sunday, June 4, the race itself is scheduled to start at 15:00 local time.
