After an impressive win over the Heat, the Boston Celtics are now on the brink of history. After his thrilling victory, Jaylen Brown was looking forward to what was to come. He shouted: “Game 7! Game 7! ” over and over again while raising his hands in the air and making the seven-finger sign.
Derrick White’s putback at the buzzer led the Celtics to a tense 104-103 victory over the Heat in Game 6, which means that Game 7 is already reserved for them. One of the NBA’s most highly regarded teams, Boston, is trying to make postseason history by becoming the first team to recover from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series.
The Celtics are now only the fourth team in NBA history to come from a 3-0 deficit and force a decisive Game 7, thanks to their remarkable comeback. It’s important to remember, however, that the three previous teams to achieve this feat – the 1951 New York Knicks in the NBA Finals, the 1994 Denver Nuggets in the 2nd session and the 2003 Trail-Blazers in the 1st round – lost the game away from home.
Boston is looking to continue its surprising postseason run, which has already included 5 wins in elimination games. In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, they overcame the Philadelphia 76ers twice after trailing 3-2, and now, after three consecutive wins over the Heat, they are riding a wave of momentum.
In general, the Celtics have done well in Game 7, as shown by their remarkable 27-9 record in these circumstances and their four recent victories. Notably, the previous victory in a Game 7 was an imposing 112-88 success against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round, crowned by Jayson Tatum’s 51-point effort, the best of the playoffs. Boston also has a psychological advantage over Miami because they beat them in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which took place on the Heat’s home court last year.
The Heat, on the other hand, have a losing record in their last two games 7 and have an overall record of 6-5. In addition, Miami have a 0-2 record in 7 away games and have yet to win any of them.
The winner of this vital game will advance to face the Denver Nuggets, champions of the Western Conference, in the NBA Finals. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra asked his team to ignore past setbacks and focus only on the current game, despite the fact that Miami has lost three games in a row. The Heat’s main concern for Monday’s game is Boston’s ability to win, despite their difficulties from beyond the arc; in their previous win, they hit just 7 of 35 attempts from beyond the arc.
Jimmy Butler hadn’t been successful either until the Heat’s last run, which put him in the lead; he had made only 5 of his previous 21 field-goal attempts. Butler has struggled in the last three games, shooting a total of 19 of 55. Butler, however, is unwavering in his determination to save Miami from a disastrous season.
