Franca beat Unifacisa by a wide margin
Franca Basketball Club secured an impressive victory over Unifacisa, tying the best-of-three series in the quarter-finals of the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) competition. The team dominated with a score of 100-78 at the Pedrocão Gymnasium in Franca, Brazil, forcing a fifth and decisive game, which will determine which team advances to the semi-finals of the competition.
The series is now tied 2-2, and the final game is scheduled for 8 p.m. (Brasília time), once again at Pedrocão. The winning team will automatically progress to the next stage of the competition.
Franca’s dominant performance
Franca set the tone at the start of the game, beating Unifacisa 26-17 in the first quarter. The team’s performance in the second quarter was even more impressive, beating their opponents by 18 points (34-16).
Although Unifacisa recovered in the third quarter, winning by a single point (23-22), it wasn’t enough to stop Franca from securing victory. Even with a 22-18 deficit in the final quarter, Franca still had a 22-point lead.
Lucas Dias was the highlight of the game, with 15 points and six rebounds, hitting 19 of the shots he attempted.
Paulistano draws series with Minas
In another game, Paulistano faced Minas and won 83-68 away from home at the UniBH Arena. Victory forces a final match to determine which team advances to the next stage of the competition. The final match will take place at 7pm in the Minas Gerais team’s gym.
São Paulo and Flamengo have already advanced to the semi-finals
On the other side of the bracket, the first semi-final has already been decided between Flamengo and São Paulo. The teams will start playing for a place in the NBB Grand Final at 8pm at the Tijuca Tennis Club.
The competition is heating up as the teams fight for a chance to become the NBB champions. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next matches to see which teams will come out on top and advance to the next stage of the competition.
