The Western Conference playoffs continue to offer interesting match-ups and exciting games for fans, with the Kings and Warriors set to face off in a must-win Game 7, while the Lakers await their next opponent.
Kings 118-99 Warriors
The Kings beat the Warriors 118-99 in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series, forcing Game 7 in Sacramento. With the win, the Kings have a chance to win their first playoff series in 19 years.
The Kings were led by Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox, who combined for 54 points, with Monk scoring 28. Curry helped the Warriors with 29 points, while Thompson added 22. The Warriors, on the other hand, couldn’t keep up with the Kings, who led by as many as 11 points in the second quarter and never looked back.
Grizzlies 85-125 Lakers
Meanwhile, the LA Lakers went through to the Western Conference playoffs with a 125-85 win over the Grizzlies in Game 6. D’Angelo Russell scored a playoff career-high 31 points for the Lakers, while LeBron James contributed 22.
Davis also had an excellent game for the Lakers, scoring 16 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking 5 shots. The Lakers won four of their six games in the first round, making 53.8% of their shots.
In the conference semi-finals, the Lakers will face either the Kings or the Warriors in the seventh game of the series.
Santi Aldama scored 16 points when he came off the bench for Memphis, Desmond Bane scored 15 and Jackson Jr. got 14. Morant and Dillon of the Grizzlies scored 10 points, but couldn’t keep up with the overpowering Lakers.
