Sada Cruzeiro secured their place in the final of the Men’s Volleyball Super League by beating Farma Conde in the semi-final play-off. The match at the Farma Conde Arena in São José dos Campos was dominated by the Cruzeirenses, who won 3-0 with scores of 25/18, 25/21 and 25/21. This was Sada Cruzeiro’s second win over Farma Conde.
In the first match played in Contagem, Minas Gerais, Sada Cruzeiro won a very tight game 3 sets to 2. In the second round, playing away from home, the team dominated the game with a heavy serve, excellent turnovers and a strong blocking system.
The match’s top scorer was Cuban López, with 17 points. Vaccari was second with 14 points and was also the highlight of the match, receiving the Viva Volleyball trophy. After the match, Vaccari said: “We played a great game here today, against a qualified opponent, which is the team from São José, and fortunately we came away with this victory and a place in the final.”
Sada Cruzeiro coach Filipe Ferraz praised his team’s dedication, saying:“We went in very focused and committed to doing our best, and this group is to be congratulated for all the hard work and dedication they have put in during this final stretch of the Super League, and throughout the season.“
The grand final of the Superliga will be played in a single match on Sunday, April 30, at 10am (Brasília time), between Sada Cruzeiro and Itambé Minas. The match will take place at the Farma Conde Arena in São José dos Campos, and Sada Cruzeiro will be looking to add another national championship to their collection. Speaking about the final, Vaccari said: “Our minds are now on the game against Minas. We’ve already had several decisions against them and now we’re going to prepare for this big battle.”
