Cristiano Ronaldo must be loving life at the moment, the Portuguese star continued his fine form in front of goal by scoring twice during Al-Nassr’s 5-0 win over Al-Adalah in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday.
Ronaldo opened the scoring for Al-Nassr with a perfectly taken penalty in the 40th minute, before scoring the second with skill and individual brilliance. It was the third consecutive game in which the 37-year-old scored twice, having also scored twice in Portugal’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.
Two goals from Ronaldo and two similar goals from Brazilian Anderson Talisca helped the Saudi Arabian club to an easy victory. Al-Nassr still trails league leader Al-Ittihad by a single point. Thanks to his last two goals, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has now scored 11 goals for his new club in other matches, and he has also registered two more assists.
After Cristiano’s last commanding display, his friend and British broadcaster Piers Morgan gave Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag a brutal scolding. Sharing a video on Twitter of Ronaldo’s sublime second goal of the night, Morgan reminded the Red Devils manager that he had made a serious mistake by allowing CR7 to leave Old Trafford.
“Two more goals for @Cristiano for now tonight, including this magnificent one, which once again suggests that Ten Hag’s decision to swap him for Wout Weghorst was one of the worst in soccer history,” tweeted Morgan.
After Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Morgan, he terminated his contract with Manchester United. The Red Devils signed Wout Weghorst in January as a replacement for the Portuguese captain, but the Dutchman only managed to score twice and also registered two assists.
The former Real Madrid striker joined Al-Nassr as a free agent and has been scoring goals for fun since arriving at his new club.
