Now led by American business tycoon Todd Boehly, Chelsea haven’t stopped opening their pockets, making several signings in the transfer window, where they have signed players like João Félix and Enzo Fernández.
Sources say that Chelsea have offered Osimhen more than double what he earns at Napoli, as well as lucrative bonuses. However, they are not alone in the race, as London rivals Tottenham are also chasing Osimhen.
Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurenitis has made it clear on several occasions that the club would not be considering selling Osimhen for any amount of money, as they are currently in the middle of a major project and are not facing any financial constraints. However, sources close to both clubs mention that an offer of 130 million euros could convince the Italians.
Osimhen is currently enjoying an excellent run of form in Italy’s top flight, having already scored 19 goals in 21 league games, while Napoli are 18 points clear at the top of the Serie A table.
The Nigerian has formed an excellent partnership with Georgian striker Kvicha Khvaratskhelia, who has also been playing some brilliant soccer. Napoli are also doing well in the Champions League, currently enjoying their 2-0 lead over Eintracht Frankfurt ahead of the second leg.
Although it is still highly unlikely that Napoli will agree to sell a player like Osimhen, given the rarity of a player of his profile and with his recent performance, an offer of 130 million euros could start negotiations between the two parties.
