In a thrilling match, Botafogo beat Flamengo 3-2 in the Brasileirão Série A. In other matches, Grêmio secured a 2-1 away win against Cuiabá, while Internacional secured a 1-0 win over Goiás thanks to a goal from Carlos de Pena.
Botafogo score 3-2 win over Flamengo
Botafogo secured an impressive 3-2 win over Flamengo. Tiquinho Soares opened the scoring for the visitors with a penalty in the 30th minute, before Danilo increased the lead in stoppage time. Rafael received a red card six minutes into the second half. Moments later, Léo Pereira reduced the deficit for Flamengo. Soares scored his second goal in the 71st minute to restore Botafogo’s two-goal lead. Pereira scored again for Flamengo in the 86th minute, but it wasn’t enough as Botafogo held on for the win.
Grêmio wins narrow victory over Cuiabá
Grêmio beat Cuiabá 2-1 in their Brazilian Serie A match on Sunday. Vinicius opened the scoring for Grêmio in the 10th minute, before Marllon equalized for the hosts in the 29th minute. It’s worth noting that in the 12th minute, Deyverson scored against Grêmio, but it was disallowed for offside. However, Everton’s goal in the 68th minute proved that Grêmio would come out on top. Cuiabá were reduced to 10 players in the final moments of the game when Itaro Patric was sent off in the 90’+7′.
Carlos De Peña ensures Internacional beat Goiás 1-0
Carlos De Peña’s second-half goal gave Internacional a 1-0 win over Goiás. The midfielder opened the scoring seven minutes into the second half. Goiás were reduced to 10 men when Maguinho was shown a straight red card in the 61st minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Goiás tried to push for an equalizer, but failed to convert any of their chances.
