The Minas gymnasium welcomed around 3,000 fans to watch the NBB All-Star Game. The winning athletes of the challenges pocketed a prize of R$5,000 each.
The initial challenge was skills, in which eight athletes took part. Basically, the challenge was to dodge a few obstacles with the basketball, hit a target, get to the other side of the court, hit the basket inside the cellar and finish with a three-point shot. The big winner of this challenge was Cassiano from the Rio Claro team.
The next challenge was the three-point derby, with 11 participants. In this challenge, the athletes had just one minute to make as many three-point baskets as possible, in a total of 25 shots, and they could shoot the ball from five different positions on the court, each with five attempts per position. The final between Augusto from the União Corinthians team and Egon from the Pato Basquete team was fierce, and Augusto won, scoring 15 points.
The final challenge was the burial day, in which eight players took part. In this challenge, the athletes showed off their dunking skills and were judged by a group of five people, of which Nezinho, a former athlete, was one. The big winner was Ewing from Minas, who faced Mãozinha from Corinthians.
Each challenge awarded the players R$5,000 in cash, so Ewing, Cassiano and Augusto pocketed the money for winning their challenges.
It’s worth highlighting the interaction between the fans and the players, who cheered at every skill demonstrated and basket scored. Challenge Night is known for being a great NBB event, bringing together the best players and promoting great interaction with the public.
As expected, this event has become a real success every year, and everyone is waiting for the grand final that brings the festive games to a close.
