Hello fella’s, I hope you are all bouncing around after the Leeds United v Everton result, what a way to start the season! Not long been in from the match at Elland Road. What a night, it was in simple terms, really fantastic. We played to our strengths and we had that in abundance. So from the back:
Lucas Perri our number one, he is great, the back four oozes confidence already knowing he is there, his confidence shows when he’s on the ball, his handling is great and his distribution is there for all to see. Great addition.
Bogle, Rodon, Struik and Gudmonson were all superb, Rodon is a rock, Bogle even though he’s not fully fit played a blinder while Gudmonson is an another fabulous addition.
Ampudu, man of the match in my opinion, a true warrior who loves the shirt. AO is another who played well beyond his years, he is fantastic and Stach, well what can I say, he is a giant and a joy to watch on the ball. One thing that does concern me is, why is he taking corners when we need him in the box because of his height? Get Gnonto to take them as Gnonto is not going to win a header from set plays is he?
Up front:
Willy Gnonto, a bit part player last season, but by god he’s working hard now and fully deserves his place, he got stuck in to everything tonight. Daniel James, he was well off the pace tonight, but he is not fully fit so we will forgive him eh. Piroe, he has worked so hard on his fitness, he looks sharp but he really didn’t get a lot of service tonight, hence needing someone to play in front of him as I think that’s his best position.
Aaronson came on and didn’t do a lot. Harrison, to give him his due he played well when he came on and worked well with the ball. I know Nmencha scored the penalty and it was a fabulously taken penalty, but I’m still looking at him and I’m not seeing that stand out striker we so desperately need. Time will tell.
Daniel Farke got everything right tonight, he got us playing to our strengths and he did not fear the opposition. He does not fear the Premier League, he never stopped on the touchline. He got the formation spot on and he picked the correct eleven. He played the right subs and in the last quarter we upped the anti whereas we used to sit back and lot and wait for a break, but tonight we didn’t play like that, hence needing someone was telling them to go for it, finish them off and we were fearless.
I’m so proud to be a Leeds supporter, I’m so proud of our players. It was not two poor teams out there tonight as we know, everyone under David Moyes are dangerous. They will not go down and credit should be given to Leeds for the way we dominated in every area of that pitch. Everton and Mr Moyes, tonight you were beaten by the better team, not a dodgy penalty. It was a certain penalty and it was only what we deserved. We went out to play tonight, right from the off, you didn’t, don’t under estimate Leeds United and if you do then don’t blame a so called dubious penalty or anything when you get turned over.
The atmosphere was electric, we are back with a jolly big bang and a statement win. The future is bright, the future is white, blue and yellow. Thank you for reading my fellow Leeds diehards. MOT ALAW.
